How Yummy Goodness started
Yummy Goodness started in 2013 while I was helping my parents run our family Estate in Panala. My father had invested a lot of time and effort growing unique fruits on our estate and with the abundance and varieties of fruits that were available, combined with my inner passion for cooking and experimenting with unique flavor combinations, I decided to put my culinary skills into use by transforming these beauties into Jams, Marmalades, Chutneys & Pickles. The fact that the fruits are naturally grown with no added artificial fertilizer was an added benefit!
What differentiates Yummy Goodness products from any other in the market, you ask?
Unlike most mass produced foods, I make my products the way my parents and grandparents made them. The fruit is picked at the peak of ripeness, just when it's beginning to fall on its own from the trees. Allowing the fruit to be sun ripened on the trees helps it to naturally develop its full flavor, therefore needing only minimal added sweeteners and no artificial ingredients, colors, or preservatives. All the natural ingredients that go into my products are the same as those used by our ancestors—whole, unprocessed fruits with natural sugars and hints of spices to enhance its flavor profiles. To capture the greatest possible concentration of flavor, they are made in small batches, thickened the old-fashioned way by slowly cooking down the fruit and with greatest care and attention to detail. The recipes and flavor combinations are created by me and each batch is carefully adjusted according to taste requirements. This careful process creates Jams/Chutneys that are beautiful in appearance reflecting the natural fruit colors & intense flavors of our native bounty, and resulting in incredibly rich tasting spreads—brimming with whole fruit goodness!
These gorgeously rich Jams & Marmalades could be spread onto toast for a mid-morning snack; mixed with some exotic spices and used as a sweet and savory marinade or warmed and drizzled over vanilla ice cream.
The Chutneys and Pickles are pastes of varying consistencies (a sweet, spicy, tangy blends with small chunks of fruit) that can be enjoyed as a rice puller with your favourite curries, on salads, meats, pizzas or simply as a dip.
